This project website relates to the proposed development by Cruden Homes (West) Ltd at the site of the former Shettleston Juniors Football Club, 401 Old Shettleston Road, Glasgow. We are keen to gain the views of the community and local stakeholders and we welcome any feedback you may have on the proposed development.

We are keen to hear the views of the local community as your feedback will inform our proposals as we move towards submitting an application for planning permission. There are several ways you can engage with the consultation:

1. Via this Website

This website will be available for viewing from Friday 28th October 2022 until Friday 18th November 2022. Feedback and comments can be provided throughout this period by email to 401oldshettlestonroad@iceniprojects.com or via the feedback form on this website.

Any comments must be received by no later than Friday 18th November 2022.

2. Take part in the Live Q&A

A live question and answer session will take place on Tuesday 1st November between 3pm and 7pm. During this time, members of the project team will be available to answer any queries you may have via phone or email using the following details:

3. Visit our in-person consultation event

An in person consultation will take place on Wednesday 2nd November 2022, between 3pm and 7pm at the Shettleston Juniors Social Club, 401 Old Shettleston Road, Glasgow, G32 7JN. Information about the proposals will be available to view and members of the project team will be in attendance to answer questions. Feedback forms will be available to complete at the venue, or to take away and return.

Any comments must be received by no later than Friday 18th November 2022.

Please note that comments made at this time are no representations to the Planning Authority. Once the planning application is submitted, there will be an opportunity to make formal representations regarding the proposed development to Glasgow City Council.

Why Are We Consulting?

Shettleston Juniors FC / Glasgow United are currently seeking to obtain a long lease of Greenfield Football Centre which is located approximately 0.5 miles to the north-west of the site. There are proposals to invest significantly in the Greenfield Football Centre to provide a much-improved facility which can meet the needs of the community. Consultation in relation to the proposals at Greenfield Football Centre was undertaken by Shettleston Community Sports Trust in 2021.

The plans for investment in Greenfield Football Centre are extensive and would aim to promote health and sports participation in the area. Plans include for creation of a new football stadium, a gym for public use, offices, a function suite and a training centre. Shettleston Juniors FC would move to Greenfield Football Centre and the former Shettleston Juniors FC site would become available for redevelopment.

As a result of the Shettleston Juniors move to Greenfield, Cruden Homes (West) Ltd have a legal agreement to develop the site to deliver affordable housing. This consultation relates to the potential development of the site by Cruden Homes for affordable housing provision, with associated works.

Proposal of Application Notice

A Proposal of Application Notice (PoAN) was submitted to Glasgow City Council on 17th June 2022 on behalf of Cruden Homes (West) Ltd. The PoAN relates to the following description of development:

‘Redevelopment of site to provide residential development with associated access, landscaping, parking and other associated works.’

The submission of the PoAN commenced a statutory 12-week period of pre-application consultation.

The consultation is being undertaken in accordance with the current Regulations and Guidance relating to pre-application consultation.
